Our History
A small group of artists, guided by Warren Fuller, first met in March 1963, showing their artwork at a Goleta bank. Douglas Parshall was elected as the first president. From its first meeting place in the office of the Goleta Valley Chamber of Commerce to its present day site at the Goleta Public Library, the Association has grown from 16 members to over 200 members.
The Association continues to bring together people with an interest in art. Through monthly exhibits and critiques at the Goleta Public Library, shows at the Hutton Foundation sites, Cabrillo Pavilion Arts Center, and outdoor venues of the Stow House and the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, and its annual GVAA Artists Tour, the Association shares its love of art with the community.
