How to Join the GVAA
To All Prospective Members:
In order to ensure that your artwork will be accepted for judging, please take time to read the following list of GVAA guidelines and rules before entering your work.
The next opportunity for artists working in two-dimensional art and photography to apply for membership will be on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 10:30-12:30, at the Goleta Valley Library, 500 North Fairview, Goleta, CA. Another date to apply in 2025 is Friday, February 28, 2025.
For submission, please bring two pieces properly wired and ready for hanging. They should be in the same medium and style. There is a $20 fee to submit the work for jurying, payable by check or cash.
The show's juror decides who gets admitted as a member based on the work submitted. Return to the gallery between 2:30-3:30 to see the result. Both pieces must be accepted by the juror. If both pieces are accepted, you will be invited to join GVAA and one of your pieces will be hanging in the show. You would then fill out the paperwork to become a member and pay the annual dues of $35.00. After August 1st, the annual dues are prorated to $20.00.

Presentation is extremely important. It is best to submit two pieces on canvas or two pieces framed under glass so continuity is obvious. The juror will be looking for consistency.
